PaisaTools is a finance toolkit, and much of what it calculates — tax, loans, investments, salary — can affect real money decisions. So every tool is built to be transparent about how it reaches a number and where the rules come from. This page explains that process. It was last reviewed in September 2026.
The calculators, decision engines and live-rate tools are built and maintained by the PaisaTools Editorial Team— the same people who run the site. Each money tool carries a visible “Reviewed by” and “Last reviewed” line so you know it's maintained, not abandoned. More about who we are and why the site exists is on our About page.
We favour tools over articles: instead of describing a calculation, we implement it and show the result, an example, and the formula. Every major tool has a “Method & sources”section that states the exact rule or formula it uses — for example the income-tax slabs, the EMI formula, or the statutory securities charges — so the number is reproducible, not a black box.
Where a calculation depends on the financial year, the applicable year is shown on the tool (currently FY 2026-27 (AY 2027-28) for tax-driven tools) and reflects the rules the maths actually implements — we do not display a newer year than the logic supports.
The rules behind our tax, GST, salary and investment tools are drawn from official Indian government and regulator sources, cited on the relevant tool's “Method & sources” section. In practice that means:
We link to the primary source rather than paraphrasing a secondary article, so you can verify a rule for yourself.
Tools are re-checked when the underlying rules change — a new Budget, a revised GST rate, a change in charges — and periodically otherwise. When the tax logic is updated for a new financial year, the displayed “Applicable to” year is updated together with the maths, not ahead of it.
Every calculator is an estimate with assumptions, and each tool states what it does notcover under “What this doesn't cover”. Common limits: surcharge and cess edge cases, state-specific charges, employer-specific salary structures, and future rate or market changes. A tool is a starting point for a decision, not a substitute for advice tailored to your full situation.
PaisaTools provides information and calculations, not personalised financial, tax, investment or legal advice. For decisions that materially affect your finances, confirm with a qualified professional. See our disclaimer for the full terms.
The tools run in your browser and your inputs stay on your device — we don't need your financial data on a server to calculate for you. Details are in our privacy policy.
If a tool returns a wrong or outdated number, we want to fix it. Tell us what you expected and what you got via our contact page, and we'll correct it and note the update.
