Loading PaisaToolsCompare the live USD → INR rate, see what your family actually receives after fees, and find the cheapest way to transfer to an Indian bank account.
Reference mid-market rate, blended from multiple live sources. It can differ by a few paise from Google or XE, and banks, cards & forex services add a 1–3% margin on top — so the amount you actually pay or receive will be a little higher.
At ₹95.54 per USD
Indians on H-1B, F-1 student and green-card status make the US the second-biggest source of remittances to India. Most transfers go bank-to-bank (ACH) through an app — the money lands in an Indian savings, NRE or NRO account. The headline fee is rarely the real cost; the exchange-rate markup is, so compare the rate you actually get against the mid-market rate shown below.
Check today's real rate
Note the live mid-market USD→INR rate (shown on this page). That's the fair rate before anyone's margin — your benchmark for comparing providers.
Compare providers, not just fees
A 'zero fee' transfer can still cost more if its exchange rate is poor. Compare the rupees actually delivered for your amount across an exchange house, your bank, and a low-fee transfer app.
Add the recipient's India details
Enter the recipient's Indian bank account (savings, NRE or NRO) or UPI ID. Double-check the IFSC code and account number — a wrong digit delays the transfer.
Pay and track
Fund the transfer from your local bank and track it in the app. Most transfers to India arrive the same day or within 1–2 business days.
Under US rules there's no tax on the transfer itself. In India, money you send to your own NRE account or to close relatives is not taxable for the recipient. Large gifts to non-relatives over ₹50,000 in a year can be taxable in the recipient's hands.
