For teachers, colleges, NGOs and organisers

Free financial literacy kit

Six ready money lessons for Indian students and families, each with a plain guide, a calculator to try their own numbers, a Hindi version where we have one, and a classroom activity. Free to use, no sign-up.

1. Budget a month

Where a salary goes, and why saving has to come first.

Classroom activity: Give each group a ₹15,000 monthly salary. They list rent, food, travel, phone and family support, then decide the savings line FIRST and cut the others to fit.

2. Saving and compounding

Why starting early beats saving more later.

Classroom activity: Compare ₹1,500 a month for 5 years in a recurring deposit with the same amount for 20 years. Students predict the gap first, then check it in the calculator.

3. Your first salary

CTC, in-hand pay, PF and tax, read off a real payslip.

Classroom activity: Take a ₹6 LPA offer. Students guess the monthly in-hand amount, then find where the difference goes: PF, tax and other deductions.

4. Borrowing and EMIs

The real cost of a loan, a credit card or a "no-cost" EMI.

Classroom activity: Price a ₹60,000 phone three ways: full payment, a no-cost EMI and a credit card minimum payment. Rank them by total cost.

5. The emergency fund

Why the first savings goal is safety, not returns.

Classroom activity: Each student lists one month's essential costs and works out how many months of saving it takes to cover three months of them.

6. Your rights as a customer and an employee

Deadlines and compensation the law already gives you.

Classroom activity: A UPI payment failed on the 1st and came back on the 6th. Using the RBI rule, students work out how many days late the bank was and what it owes.
